Fall 2018 Featured Recipe – Scott Rector’s Grandma’s Pecan Pie

American classic cake with pecans and maple syrup.

Mississippi Pecan Pie

1 Pie Crust See Simply Recipes Pâte Brisée or
1.25 cups Dark Corn Syrup
1 cup Sugar
4 Eggs whole
4 tbsp Butter melted
1.5 cups Pecans chopped
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tbsp Dark Rumor more, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Roll out pastry and line a 10-inch pie dish.

Combine corn syrup and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook stirring just until sugar is dissolved.

Beat eggs in a mixing bowl and very slowly add the syrup mixture, beating to prevent eggs from cooking.

Add the remaining ingredients and pour the mixture into the pie shell.

Bake 50 minutes to an hour or until pie is set.
